Have you ever been in a difficult trial and you knew that you were in the trial because of your own sin? You knew that you should cry out to God for help, but you were afraid to do so because of your sin. Or, maybe your problems were not due to deliberate sin, but rather because of immaturity or stupid decisions. Sometimes even though I have prayed for guidance and wisdom, I still have done something that resulted in a heap of trouble. What should you do at such times?
Psalm 25 teaches us to seek God in the hard times, no matter for what reason we are in those hard times. It seems to me that James 1:5-6 is a succinct summary of Psalm 25: “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.”
Try God, He still loves us and willingly forgives.
The answers you seek never come when the mind is busy, they come when the mind is still.
Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God! I will be praised among the nations, I will be praised in the earth.
Oftentimes we are so busy, trying to figure out ways to get us through or over our obstacles that we make them even worse. Our “Stinkin Thinking,” according to scripture, only leads us down a path of destruction. Be still! Be quiet! Listen…Hear His voice! God is speaking and wants to show Himself strong in your situation so that the world knows the God you serve.

When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die. There are different kinds of dying, it is true; but the essence of discipleship is contained in these words. – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Luke 9:23 And He said to all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Real discipleship requires us to leave this life and embrace the life of Christ. Many people will wear a cross, but not bare a cross. If you are not willing to look like Christ in all things, you are not willing to look like Him at all.
