Pastor Leon Coleman III serves the Lord as the Senior Pastor of First Salem Missionary Baptist Church. In faith, Pastor Coleman previously served the Kalamazoo community while working as a Behavior Specialist with the public-school system. Before being elevated to his role as pastor he severed in the Lord's church as an Elder at The Galilee Baptist Church.
Pastor Coleman received his Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a Master’s in Ministry and Organizational Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
Pastor Coleman has been blessed to have the lovely and gracious Leading Lady Nicole R.S Coleman as his God given help mate. This union has gifted him two loving and caring daughters Layla Rene and Nia Simone.
Pastor Coleman seeks to encourage, edify, and empower the lives of the people of God. He holds John 10:10 close to his heart “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Elder Nicole R.S. Coleman is the daughter of Pastor George and Lady Barbara Stapleton of Flint, Michigan. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and committed to serving Him at an early age. Recognizing her earthly assignment in the arena of education, she pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Elder Nicole is a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Nicole has a heart for education, both secular and spiritual. Currently, she serves as the Director of Christian Education and Women’s Ministry Coordinator of the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She has a special passion for helping men and women identify, acknowledge, cultivate and fully operate in the gifts and callings that God has placed within them, with humility and integrity, as an act of worship and appreciation to God.

Nicole is the loving wife of Elder Leon Coleman, III and the mother of two beautiful daughters, Layla and Nia Coleman. Overall, the objective of Nicole’s life is simply stated: I just want to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. At the end of the day, it's about hearing him say, "Well done."
